CHOOSE THE PROCESS THAT FITS YOUR MATTER

What stage are you at, and what comes next?

These are the main headings for your matter. For each process, the stages, the documents you need to prepare and the distinctions specific to the type of case are covered in the process guides. These detailed process pages are currently available in Turkish only.

02 / FOLLOWING YOUR FILE

Four pieces of information should be clear at every stage.

01

Latest action

What was done in the file, and which document or decision arrived?

02

Next step

Which action will be taken, or which response is awaited?

03

Your contribution

Is a document, information, payment, attendance or decision needed from you?

04

Important date

What is the known hearing, appointment or last date for action?

In your information request, state your file reference and the stage you want to learn about.

03 / HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Accurate information, timely action.

What our firm keeps track of

  • The scope of the matter taken on and the legal route to be followed.
  • The necessary petitions, applications and procedural steps.
  • Known time limits for official notifications, hearings, interim decisions and procedural steps.
  • Legal assessment in light of new documents and decisions.
  • Important developments and the steps expected of you.

Follow-up is carried out within the agreed scope of service. The scope of a new lawsuit, legal remedy or enforcement stage is clarified separately.

New Application and Engagement Process

What you need to send us on time

  • New official notifications, summonses, decisions and letters from authorities.
  • All relevant documents, whether they may help or hurt your position.
  • Changes to your address, phone number and authority of representation.
  • Payments made and settlement offers from the other party.
  • Circumstances that prevent you from providing a requested document or attending in person.

Do not guess a date you do not know. If a document is missing, explain it; keep the originals, delivery records and digital files.

04 / AFTER THE DECISION

A decision being issued may not mean the matter is complete.

Reasoning and route of appeal

The scope of the decision, its reasoning, the service records and the appropriate route of appeal are reviewed. Objection, appeal to the regional court of appeal (istinaf) or appeal to the Court of Cassation (temyiz) is not open on the same terms for every decision.

Becoming final and enforcement

The requirement of becoming final and the enforceability of the decision are assessed separately. New steps may be needed for collection, delivery, registration or action by the administration.

An individual application to the Constitutional Court is not a general appeal route in which every decision is reviewed again. The alleged rights violation, the available remedies, the time limit and the admissibility conditions are assessed separately.

05 / TIME, EXPENSES AND PREPARATION

Which developments affect the timeline and the budget?

How fast the file moves

The completion of service, responses from authorities, the collection of evidence, a court-appointed expert or on-site examination, hearings and review through legal remedies may affect the timeline. A fixed end date cannot be given for any file.

Track the planned next action separately from the outcome expected from the court or authority.

Expenses and expense advance

The attorney’s fee is separate from court fees, service, expert, on-site examination, translation and other expenses. The necessary expense advance is taken for expenses; expenditures are accounted for with receipts and expense documents.

  • Payments made and any additional expenses incurred.

06 / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What you may wonder about your process

Is a lawsuit necessary for every legal problem?

No. Depending on the nature of the matter, advice, a contract, a formal notice, an application to an authority, mediation or another route may be appropriate. Filing a lawsuit is one of the options; the purpose and the legal conditions are assessed together.

What stage is my file at, and what is the next step?

Ask for information through the existing client contact channel, quoting your file reference. Ask together about the latest action taken, the next step expected, the document or decision requested from you and any important date. This page is a general guide; it does not show the live status of your personal file.

How long will my case or application take?

There is no completion time that applies to all matters. Service, responses from authorities, the collection of evidence, experts, hearings, workload and legal remedy stages may affect the timeline. A forecast for your file is distinct from a statutory processing time.

If I have an attorney, do I need to attend the hearing or procedure?

For some procedures the attorney’s attendance may be enough; for others you must be present in person. Do not decide not to attend without assessing the official summons and what the file requires. If you are abroad, tell us in advance which country you are in and how you can take part.

What should I do if a new document, payment or offer from the other party arrives?

Send it to your attorney without delay. Share the information and documents that may help and those that may hurt your position together. Before any direct payment, settlement, release, waiver or new commitment, assess its legal effect; do not conceal an existing procedure.

Does the file end as soon as a decision is issued?

Not always. Review of the reasoned judgment, service, the appropriate route of appeal, becoming final and enforcement or collection steps may be required. Becoming final and enforceability are not the same concept; the rule that applies is determined by the type of decision.

Is an appeal to the regional court of appeal or the Court of Cassation possible in every file?

No. The route of appeal is determined by the type of decision, the relevant law, the finality limits and other conditions. The right to appeal, the start of the time limit and the grounds are reviewed on the basis of the decision and the service records. Do not act on a general time limit you saw on the internet.

Can I see my file on UYAP or e-Devlet?

You can review information on files to which you are a party and for which you have access authority through the UYAP Citizen Portal. The scope of access may vary by file and authorization. If you are unsure about a record you see on the portal, ask your attorney; do not share your password or verification code.

How are the expense advance and additional expenses managed?

The attorney’s fee and expenses such as court fees, service, experts, on-site examination and translation are separate items. The necessary expense advance is taken; expenditures are accounted for with receipts and expense documents. When an additional procedure arises, the need and the time of payment are communicated separately.

If a time-sensitive notification arrives, should I wait to review this guide?

No. Send all pages of the document, its attachments and the delivery records, and call the office main line. Sending a form, e-mail or WhatsApp message does not stop the legal time limit. Separately confirm that the document has reached us and what action is to be taken.

File information is handled in confidence.

The information and documents you share are used for legal assessment, for carrying out the relevant matter and for related communication, in observance of the principles of professional confidentiality and the protection of personal data. File information is passed on to authorized persons after identity and the relationship with the file have been verified.

ASSESSMENT SPECIFIC TO YOUR FILE

Tell us the subject of your file and the stage it is at. If there is a time-sensitive document, call the office main line without waiting for a written reply.
