CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS / PROCESS GUIDE

How does it proceed, step by step?

The steps may run in parallel or change depending on the nature of the matter. Also read the key distinctions below.

  1. It is assessed whether the offense and the file fall within the scope of a special procedure.

  2. Depending on the procedure, the rights, the option to accept/refuse or to give a written statement, and the defense safeguards are explained.

  3. The outcome — agreement, acceptance, judgment or return to the general procedure — is followed; the route of appeal is determined according to the decision.

THIS DISTINCTION MATTERS

Do not overlook the conditions specific to your matter.

These are not names used interchangeably. Criminal reconciliation (uzlaştırma) is distinct from mediation in civil disputes.
