CLIENT CENTER · COMMUNICATION AND PAYMENT SECURITY

Fraud and Fake Communication Warning

Get confirmation from our law firm before you act.

If you receive a suspicious call, message or payment request sent using the name or logo of Güneş & Güneş Law Firm or the names of our attorneys, contact us first. Do not send money or share personal information until the identity of the sender and the accuracy of the request have been confirmed.

01 · STOP AND VERIFY

With a suspicious request, stop the transaction first.

Stop payments and information sharing

Do not open suspicious links or attachments; do not install applications, and do not allow screen sharing or remote access. Do not share bank, e-Devlet or email passwords or verification codes.

Call our firm’s number yourself

Even if the calling number looks familiar, end the call and call the verification line on this page yourself. Report the caller’s name, the file they say they are calling about and their request to our client relations assistant.

Our official verification line

The fact that someone knows a name, logo, profile photo or some details of your file is not identity verification by itself.

Check the attorney’s record

You can check the first and last names in the register (levha) of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (Türkiye Barolar Birliği, TBB) or the relevant bar association. Being given a real attorney’s name and registration number does not show that the caller is that attorney.

TBB · Check an Attorney’s Record (opens in a new tab)

Confirm their connection to our firm

Do not settle for a similar firm name, logo or file details. Confirm that the person is contacting you on behalf of Güneş & Güneş Law Firm, and that the request is genuine, through our official communication channels.

02 · REQUESTS THAT CALL FOR CAUTION

Get additional confirmation in these situations.

Urgent payment, fake invoice and new IBAN

If you are told “our account has changed,” “pay immediately” or “your file will be closed,” verify the basis for the payment and who the recipient is. New account details added to an existing email thread must also be confirmed separately.

Look-alike address, fake profile and link

Do not rely on the sender’s display name; check the full email address and the domain of the link. Be careful with pages that open through altered letters, shortened links and QR codes; the HTTPS indicator alone is not proof of trustworthiness.

Familiar voice, image or pressure for secrecy

A voice or video call does not verify identity by itself. If you are told “do not tell anyone” or “do not call the office,” being prevented from getting confirmation also calls for caution.

Promises of recovering money, inheritance or gains

Be careful when a new payment is requested with a statement like “we will definitely get your lost money back.” For an unexpected inheritance, compensation, investment or job offer, look into the basis for any advance fee request.

Pressure over lawsuits, enforcement or settlement

When you are rushed with statements such as “last day of your settlement file” or “action will be started if you do not pay,” verify the relevant authority, the file number and the reason for the payment. Do not settle for an image of a message or document.

Check the file through the official channel

Check the files you are a party to and that are open to your access through UYAP. If in doubt, contact the relevant judicial unit or your attorney. Do not neglect genuine official notifications (tebligat) and legal time limits.

UYAP · Check Your File (opens in a new tab)

These signs call for review; not every different number or change of account automatically means fraud. The aim is to verify the genuine request through an independent channel.

03 · BEFORE PAYING

Confirm the file, the amount and the recipient account together.

File and reason for payment

Find out which file or matter the payment is requested for, along with the amount, currency and description. Match the payment request to the relevant legal matter and to your conversation with our firm.

Recipient and bank details

Verify the recipient’s name / title, bank and IBAN through our verification line. For transfers abroad, where necessary, also check the SWIFT/BIC and the account currency. Replying to the same message alone is not enough for confirmation.

Do not make the payment until your doubts are resolved. After paying, keep the bank receipt (dekont). If a relative or your company’s accounting department will make the transaction, share the verified details with them.

04 · AFTER A PAYMENT OR SHARING INFORMATION

Act without waiting for our firm’s response.

If there is a risk to money or account security, do not delay the steps below. Prompt reporting is important; recovery of the money cannot be guaranteed.

1. Notify your bank immediately

Use your bank’s official application or its known customer service number. Give the time, amount and recipient details of the transaction and ask about the steps that can be taken for a hold, a transaction dispute or recall of the transfer.

2. Protect access to your accounts and device

If you shared a password, go to the service’s official address from another trusted device; change the password and check open sessions. If you gave remote access, disconnect; get technical support before using the device again.

3. Keep correspondence and payment records

Do not delete messages, emails, sender details, dates and times, call records and bank receipts. Preserve the original records without altering them. Do not reopen a suspicious attachment; do not reformat the device haphazardly. After preserving the records, report the suspicious account through the relevant platform’s reporting and blocking options.

4. Contact the competent authorities

You can report the incident and the records you hold to the police, the gendarmerie or the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor (Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı). Reporting to our firm is not a substitute for an official application and does not stop legal time limits.

05 · REPORT SUSPICIOUS COMMUNICATION TO OUR FIRM

Briefly tell us what happened; preserve the records.

Information needed in the first report

Contact details at which we can reach you; the date and time of the call or message; the sender’s number, email address or profile link; what was requested and whether you made a payment or shared information.

Share documents in a controlled way

Do not forward suspicious attachments haphazardly. Agree with our firm on the necessary records and the method of sharing. Preserve the originals; in copies prepared for the first report, hide personal information unrelated to the matter.

Email: info@gunesgunes.com · Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00, Türkiye time.A first response to requests is given within 48 hours at the latest. Do not wait for a written reply for urgent or time-sensitive matters. The WhatsApp button opens the chat; you send the message.

06 · CONFIDENTIALITY AND PERSONAL DATA

Keep your report limited to the necessary information.

The information and documents you share are handled solely for the legal assessment of your report and for carrying out related communication, with regard to professional confidentiality and the principles of personal data protection. Do not share file, identity or bank information in social media comments.

07 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Short answers about suspicious communication

I only clicked on a link; has my account been compromised?

Clicking alone does not show that your account has been compromised. Close the page; do not download files and do not enter information. If you entered a password or card details, notify the relevant service and your bank without delay. If you ran a file or the device’s behavior has changed, get technical support.

Is an image of a document or a file number enough?

No. An image of a document, a signature, a stamp or a file number does not prove on its own that the request is genuine. Verify the content of the document and the basis of the request independently with the relevant authority or your attorney.

Can I report even if I am not a client of our firm?

Yes. You can report suspicious communication in which our firm’s name is used. A report does not mean that your matter has been taken on or that an official application has been made on your behalf; the scope of any legal service is determined separately.

How can I get confirmation from abroad?

You can call +90 531 883 33 88 with the country code, reach us on WhatsApp at the same number, or write to info@gunesgunes.com. Take the time difference into account; for urgent bank security steps, do not wait for our firm’s response.
