01 · Summer Internship and Preparation for the Profession

Why a Summer Internship at Güneş & Güneş?

We see the summer internship not merely as a short observation period, but as a preparatory process in which the first deliberate links between legal education and professional practice are formed and habits of research and responsibility develop.

  1. Getting to Know How a Corporate Office Operates

It offers the chance to see how departments, the division of tasks, written workflows, file and deadline tracking, information transfer and reporting routines work together.

  2. Legal Research and Use of Sources

You work on how legislation, decisions of the high courts and views in legal scholarship are examined against the criteria of reliability, currency and relevance to the concrete matter.

  3. Developing the Foundations of Legal Writing

Through short research notes and assessment texts, the basic principles of clear, consistent and reasoned legal expression are seen in practice.

  4. Starting to See the File as a Whole

The relationship between events, documents, evidence, party statements, statutory deadlines and procedural stages is assessed within the limits of duty and confidentiality.

  5. Using a Foreign Language in a Legal Context

Your English, German or Russian can be developed in the context of document review, legal terminology, interview preparation and professional correspondence.

  6. Choosing Your Professional Direction Deliberately

Observing different areas of law, the roles of lawyers and the operations of a law firm helps students assess their development goals more realistically.

02 · Areas of the Programme

Observation, Research, Writing and Joint Assessment

The duration and content of the programme are adapted to the conditions of the relevant period. The four axes below show the basic working approach of our student programmes.

  • 01 · Observation

    Corporate operations and file coordination

Getting to know the daily routine, division of tasks, meetings and file coordination of a departmentalised law firm.

  • 02 · Research

Legislation, case law and reliable sources

Searching sources on legal issues suited to the scope of the programme; applying criteria of currency and reliability.

  • 03 · Writing

Short research notes and legal expression

Putting research results into writing in a clear, orderly and reasoned way; making the use of sources visible.

  • 04 · Joint Assessment

    Feedback from the responsible lawyer

Holding a structured assessment of the purpose, method, sources and areas for improvement of the work prepared.

Programme limit: Students' work is carried out within the scope and duty limits of the programme, under the supervision of the responsible lawyers. A summer internship does not replace the statutory lawyer traineeship or independent legal work. Those who successfully complete the programme may be given a corporate internship/participation certificate appropriate to the nature of the programme; this certificate is not an official professional qualification document.

03 · Candidate Profile and Working Approach

Whose Applications Do We Consider?

We value not only academic achievement but also the candidate's approach to learning, sense of continuity and responsibility, discipline in written work and manner of communicating within a team.

  • Being a Law Student

Depending on the nature of the programme, any priority by year of study is announced separately in the relevant period's announcement.

  • B2+ Foreign Language Proficiency

Proficiency at B2 level or above in at least one of English, German or Russian is the basic condition for applying.

  • Research Curiosity and Care with Sources

Being willing to reach reliable sources, verify them and justify the research result.

  • Continuity and Responsibility

Keeping to the set days and hours; following up on assigned tasks on time and reporting developments.

  • Confidentiality and Professional Ethics

Showing great care regarding client confidentiality, personal data, document security and the limits of duty.

  • Openness to Learning Together

Being open to asking questions, receiving feedback, improving one's work and respectful communication within the team.

Approaches that do not fit our programme culture

Seeing the summer internship merely as a signature or paperwork formality; failing to show the necessary care regarding continuity, confidentiality, follow-up of assigned tasks and respect within the team; or adopting a closed attitude towards learning or a manner of communication that disturbs the working peace is incompatible with the working philosophy of our student programmes.
